I'm on a journey - aren't we all? I'm back at creating after a career that didn't allow me time. Working hard at producing my works for sale but also on a quest to learn and allow my creative mind and hands to wander where they will.

Here is my latest piece called Drift. The tiles are handmade using Sculpey polymer clay, acrylic paint and beach glass washed up on the beautiful shores of Penobscot Bay in Bayside, Maine where I live.  I actually spilt my time now between Florida and Maine.

My husband and I used to live on our boat winters, traveling the Intra Coastal Waterway from Virginia to Florida and back. One of the many neat expereines we had was in Stuart Florida on Christmas eve. From our anchorage on the east side we could see the large homes with  holiday lights aglow on the west side. Missing home and wanting to feel more of the holiday spirit we got in our dingy and motored to the far shore to enjoy the light displays. When we got there we turned of the engine. The light breeze and the tide were just right for us to drift and drift. The dingy slowly bobbed , silently, past the docks and the homes. It was so quiet and peaceful and magical that natue allowed us about 45 minutes without even coming close to have to navigate again with the noisy engine. Once in a whle...we just need to drift.
